...and take our time over things. The guide will be more and more willing to consider unscheduled stops and to explain things!!

We need to start this either in Windhoek or somewhere close. Pick up will be between 8 and 9 a.m.

Our first stop is at the Hardap dam, the largest dam in Namibia, were we will have lunch in the resorts restaurant overlooking some spectacular views of the dam and surrounding areas.

After lunch we hit the road again and travel further south past Brucaros, a non-active volcanic crater, towards Keetmanshoop.

Our first overnight stop is at the Quivertree Forest Lodge were you can spend some time in the afternoon relaxing by the swimming pool or go for a walk to take in some of the breathtaking scenery.

Dinner will be served in the restaurant.

Day two kicks of with an early breakfast.

We are now heading to the Canyon Lodge. The accommodations at Canyon Lodge are unique with rooms nestled in between rocky outcrops.

After lunch, we'll head for the Fish River Canyon. The Fish River has carved it's way through the Namibian plains over millions of years forming what is today the second largest canyon in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in Namibia.

After our excursion, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and a few nightcaps under the African stars.

Breakfast is early to ensure an early departure.

Today our travels take us to Namibia's southern border to South Africa and the Orange River. After some photo opportunities we'll set a new course and head north towards the small town of Aus. Here we will have lunch at the hotel before setting of once more in a westerly direction towards the harbor town of Luderitz.

Time for some relaxing!

We'll check in at the Nest hotel, one of Namibia's finer hotels for some R & R.

We spend some time exploring the town, viewing some of the old colonial architecture. We will have lunch in one of the town restaurants before setting of for Kolmanskop.html">Kolmanskop, a ghost town only a short drive from Luderitz. Kolmanskop.html">Kolmanskop was once a bustling mining town founded in 1908 during the diamond rush. For the photography buffs - real atmosphere and great photo opportunities await you.

After exploring Kolmanskop.html">Kolmanskop, we'll head back to the comforts of the hotel.

Another early start to the day, since we'll be traveling many miles!

We will head toward Sesriemwhere we will check in at the Sossusvlei Karos Lodge.

Lunch in the restaurant and relaxing by the swimming pool will give you time to catch your breath, before we take it away again with the spectacular scenery of Sesriemcanyon. A slow drive via Dune 45 (where we stop for a well deserved sunset) will get us back to the lodge well in time for dinner.

We need to get up early next morning to be at the park gates as soon as they open for some of the most awesome photo opportunities at Sossus Vlei and Dead Vlei (by the way, the word "Vlei" is Afrikaans for valley) occur where the sun is washing the dunes in a never-ending array of colors. This will probably be one of the most unforgettable breakfasts of your life!

Return to the Lodge and have lunch in the restaurant. After lunch you're on your own (the poor guide will need a break by now!) and you can choose between a variety of activities - from Quad biking to Hot Air Balloon Trips.

By now everybody will be relaxed and you will be on first name terms with your guide - enjoy dinner!

From next to nothing, we are now headed for the coast and the quaint German town of Swakopmund via Solitaire and the Kuiseb Canyon.

Solitaire is always an interesting stop - shop, apple pie and fresh bread in the middle of nowhere.

No blacktop for us - we are taking allthe back roads we can find.

We'll check in at the Stiltz, where we will stay for our two day coastal visit. A short tour of the town will allow for some shopping and sight seeing time.

Dinner at the Tug restaurant - one of the top restaurants in Swakopmund.

Breakfast will be at a typical German bakery, Café Treff or Café Anton.

After breakfast you can decide - Quad Biking (ATVs), Sky Diving, Fishing, Dolphin Cruises, Sea Kayaking on your own ticket, or an excursion to Walvisbay Lagoon with lunch at The Raft Restaurant on ours.

Dinner at the Brauhaus Restaurant - a typical German pub/eatery. Sample a lot of different beers and, with luck, some typical German "Oompah"

A lazy morning and leisurely breakfast (much needed after last night!!) will provide some rest before we tackle the road back to where we started. En-route we will go off road via the famous Moon Landscape to visit Guanikontes Oases before we exit the river and head home.
