Description :
                                  Black and white stripes with pale brown stripes on the white bands
                                            of the rump and sides.
                                            Belly striped too, but lower legs not.
                                            Black on top of nose.

Mass:
                                  290 - 340 kg

Habitat :
                                  Adaptable, but prefer savannah woodland within range of water.
 

Behavior :
                                  Herds consist of family groups of one stallion with up to 5 mares and foals each.
                                            Young stallions form bachelor groups.
                                            Grazers, drink regularly.
                                            Associate readily with other species.
                                            One foal born, mostly in summer, after one year's gestation and joins the herd.
 

Hunt Method :
                                Zebra have good vision and are fast.
                                          When fleeing, the stallion normally brings up the rear.
                                          Do not underestimate the zebra's kick and bite when it is wounded or
                                          cornered.
