To prospective Hunters and Visitors:

My name is Joe Sandberg. I have hunted with Pieter Stofberg and African Days three times. In early 1999 I went on my first African safari. Pieter and African Days were suggested by a USA booking agent whom I previously had good hunts through. To say the least, I was a bit apprehensive as I had not been on a safari and had never been to Africa. Although I have been hunting since I was young throughout the USA and Canada, this was a big step many of us hunters contemplate and sometimes take.

The 1999 trip was to the Kalahari Desert, hunting plains game from tent camps. The initial apprehension was quickly put to rest by the beauty of the country, the abundance of game and the treatment I received from Pieter, his staff and all of the people we met. After ten days, nine great trophies and many hours spent around the camp fire until the wee hours, I left with tears in my eyes and Pieter a friend for life.

This trip was followed by a trip in 2001 to the Bushmanland area near Grootfontein and the central mountains north of Windhoek. Again, nine great trophies, spectacular new country and wonderful people. This trip we hunted from permanent camps and ranches.

In 2002 I returned on a shortened trip with Pieter and hunted in the north central portion of the country near Otjiwarongo and Outjo. I collected four trophies including the Arnold Schwartzenegger of Eland. New trip, same story. Great hunting, beautiful country and wonderful, friendly people.

The accommodations have always been clean and very comfortable. The food is good, wholesome and plentiful. Pieter and Thomas (Pieter's head camp man) will always see to any need you may have. Laundry is daily so pack Spartan.

On every hunt the desired species have been plentiful and quality trophy animals available. It is however hunting and fair chase and some of the wish list may not be filled. It is hunting! Pieter is very conscious of your trophy desires and will do his best to see you get your trophy. I have taken four Kudu with Pieter (I love hunting Kudu!) and each has been 3 to four inches longer in horn than the previous.

Immigration in and out of Namibia is normally quick and easy.

I highly recommend African Days  whether it is your first trip to Africa or your tenth. Good hunting!!

Joe Sandberg
