When we first started researching the route your trophies has to take to get back to you in the USA, it quickly became clear that there would be several stops where we would have no control. So it became essential that we find people at those locations, research them, and reach agrrements so that we know your shipment would reach you without problems.
Here in Africa, we have to field prepare your trophies, get them dipped, packed and then shipped to you. The field prep we are doing ourselves, so no problems there. For the dipping and packing stage, we identified Reiser Taxidermy. (Don't get confused by the "taxidermy" part - we are NOT talking of doing the mounts here). Reiser have been delivering absolutely problem free service to our clients for years, so we are happy to recommend them to you. Access the pages dedicated to their services here:
Reiser Taxidermy Dip/Pack & Ship.
Reiser then uses Interntional Freight Namibia to ship your trophies to the States. In the USA, we recommend that you use Fauna & Flora Customhouse Brokerage Co. in New York to clear your shipment through the various governmental agencies involved. (USDA, CDC, Fish & Wildlife, Customs, etc.) They charge you for this service but, you don't want to try to do this yourself. Like Reiser, we have been using them for years with no problems. Access the Fauna &
Flora web site here. Once you are done studying our site, access Fauna & Flora from the top of our page.
Fauna & Flora will then forward your trophies to the delivery address of your choice. Here we strongly recommend that you consider using the services of H&H Wildlife Design in Mecosta, Michigan. We thoroughly researched these guys (Pieter Stofberg personally visited them several times) and we have no problem sending you there. The deal we negotiated with them will see them delivering your completed trophies anywhere in the USA, on top of a general ten percent
discount on your taxidermy - just because you are an African Days client!!
All in all we are satisfied that, if you follow this route, your trophies will be safe and should reach you within five months of the completion of your hunt. Of course, you are under no obligation to use it and are free to make your own arrangements. Our recommendations are purely meant to make your experience trouble free - from bullet to wall.
